Now that everything is cooling down you get great prices and it will go back up and sell the property for a nice profit. You just have to be financially secure enough to sit on it for a time. But if you plan to sell it any time soon then no. Also if you want to sell it when the market heats up again then no. By the time the market gets back on its feet, and you are selling, the intrest you will be racking up will be huge. I would go with your 401K. It is a solid investment, and more often then not, it has a decent yield compared to real estate, which is hit or miss. Hopefully this will help a bit.
